Hotel Review: Caramel Boutique Resort, Crete, Greece

Grecotel Amirandes EntranceLocation: On the longest beach in Crete, and a short distance away from Rethymno’s Venetian harbour.

Rooms: 69 villas and suites with accommodations options for singles, couples and up to 10 people.

Amenities: A large centerpiece seawater pool, two restaurants, the option to dine at any of the other three Grecotel hotels on the island and at the hotel’s Agreco organic farm, a poolside brasserie, a very chic piano bar and supervised children and teen entertainment options to name a few.

Room to book: One of Caramel’s exquisitely appointed two-bedroom beach villa in split-level layout, which can accommodate 5 people. The beachfront property has incredible views of the Cretan sea from both bedrooms and a grassy backyard which leads directly on to the sea.

Who’ll fit right in: Couples on a honeymoon and families seeking a relaxing yet tasteful sun and sea holiday.

Standout feature: Space and lots of it. Although it is a resort, the hotel’s 69 villas and suites are spread over a significantly large area, giving it a light, airy and exclusive feel. In addition, having opened less than a year ago, the design aesthetic is still very crisp and current.
